John O. Fitzgerald II was born and raised in the Boise Idaho area. He graduated from the University of Idaho in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. John earned is Juris Doctor in 1990 from the University of Idaho College of Law.
During law school John served as the Assistant Symposium Editor of the Idaho Law Review. He also served a legal internship with the Ada County Prosecutorís Office in Boise, Idaho, where he received his initial trial experience prosecuting infraction and misdemeanor criminal charges. Following his graduation from law school, John accepted an associate position with a law firm in Twin Falls, Idaho, where his practice included the areas of insurance defense, commercial and real estate transactions, land use, planning and zoning law, and agricultural and environmental law. In 1992, John moved to Meridian, Idaho to practice with his father. In Meridian, he developed and maintained a general civil law practice, representing clients in commercial litigation, commercial and real estate transactions, land use and planning and zoning matters, estate and probate matters, family law matters and agricultural and environmental matters. While practicing in Meridian, John also served as the Assistant City Attorney for the City of Meridian. Upon his fatherís retirement in 1999, John returned to Twin Falls, Idaho to practice in a firm whose principal concentration was insurance defense litigation. In 2004, he opened the office of Moffatt, Thomas, Barrett, Rock & Fields, Chtd., in Twin Falls, Idaho. In 2006, John, along with Richard J. Worst and Timothy J. Stover formed the law firm Worst, Fitzgerald & Stover, PLLC.
Mr. Fitzgerald represents a wide variety of clients in state and federal courts, and before state and local agencies, commissions and boards. His experience includes the representation of clients in the areas of insurance defense and coverage litigation, commercial litigation, commercial and real estate transactions, land use and planning and zoning matters, and agricultural and environmental matters.
John and his wife have four daughters.
